About me

About me

My name is Michel Tilma and I live in Leeuwarden.

In October 2012, I was struck by multiple strokes. Because of this, I spent three weeks at the UMCG. My life had to change. From a busy life to a quieter life. I went looking for a hobby where I could find my peace.

In May 2013 I started photographing. The first camera I bought was the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40. Half a year later i noticed the camera was to small for me. I decided to switch to an SLR camera. After some research I chose the Nikon D5200 with a standard lens of 18-105.

From that moment on, I started to enjoy photography more and more. Photography is now my passion. Currently I use the Nikon D7200. By using multiple lenses, I challenge myself to photograph various subjects. My favorite lenses are the Sigma 17-50 F2.8 and the Tamron SP AF 70-200 mm - F2.8.

In September 2016 I started photographing model building figures at various locations in Leeuwarden. For this I use the Sigma 17-50 F2.8. This type of photography suits me the best. I always have the subject in mind, I just have to look for a location.

Meanwhile I have had an item at “Omroep Friesland” and a number of articles have appeared on “Suksawat” and “Digifotostarter” and the “Huis aan Huis Leeuwarden”.

I find my peace in photography.
